Joyce Hagen is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing and Development Officer for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies. In this position she oversees strategy and execution, market expansion and product development nationally.
Prior to this role, Ms. Hagen served as the Regional President, Midwest Region for AmeriHealth Mercy where she provided oversight and administration responsibilities for MDwise Hoosier Alliance and MDwise Care Select in Indiana, as well as Passport Health Plan and Passport Advantage in Kentucky. AmeriHealth Mercy provides administrative services for University Health Care-owned Passport Health Plan.
Beginning in 1998, Ms. Hagen joined the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies as President of Passport Health Plan, a health maintenance organization that serves Medicaid recipients in Louisville, Kentucky, and the surrounding 15 counties. While in this position, she helped to make Passport a nationally recognized leader in Medicaid and Medicare managed care. She also helped to save tax dollars for the state while measurably improving quality and member satisfaction.
With more than 25 years in the health care industry, Ms. Hagen brings a wealth of experience as a nurse, a multi-specialty clinic manager, an insurance director, a consultant, a wellness company President, and as President of Blue Cross of Kentucky's state-wide PPO company with over 300,000 members.
Ms. Hagen is active in the community and lends corporate and personal support for numerous local charitable activities. She has worked to enhance medical benefits and information for terminally ill patients as part of a Robert Wood Foundation grant on end-of-life care. Ms. Hagen also serves on the boards of University of Louisville Foundation, Bellarmine University, and Valparaiso University. She is the recipient of the 2001 Business and Professional Women of River City Woman of Achievement Award, and the 2006 Community Health Charities Leadership Award.
Ms. Hagen received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University and a Master of Business Administration at Dominican University. She is also a 1999 graduate of the Leadership Louisville program. |
