Aiken County Medicaid Patients Get New Choice
in Healthcare Coverage

Health of South Carolina announced today that its
quality health plan, First Choice, is now be available to residents
of Aiken County.
The latest expansion increases the Select Health coverage area
to 24 counties in South Carolina. First Choice, a voluntary
option for Medicaid-eligible families, covers nearly 58,000
members across the state.
Our plan offers outstanding healthcare coverage to families
who need it the most, said J. Michael Jernigan,
Select Health President and CEO. We are excited
about serving Medicaid-eligible families in Aiken County.
Select Health is able to provide quality healthcare coverage
to its members through a statewide network of 2,000 physicians
and hospitals including all four of South Carolinas childrens
hospitals. Select Health has contracted with the Medical College
of Georgia, as well as Aiken physicians to serve members in
the Aiken County Area. We are pleased to have MCG in our
network and now have five childrens hospitals available
to families enrolled in our health plan, said Jernigan.
Select Health is improving health outcomes across
the state, said Dr. William Kanto Jr., Medical Director
of the MCG Childrens Medical Center. We look forward
