Medicaid Managed Care Congress
June 19, 2006 – Philadelphia (PA) – Daniel J. Hilferty, President and CEO, AmeriHealth Mercy, will be featured on a Keynote CEO Panel on Wednesday, June 21st at 9:45 a.m. at IIR’s 14th Annual Medicaid Managed Care Congress, being held June 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, MD.
This keynote panel, Medicaid Plan CEO and State Executive Panel – Overcoming the Various Barriers to Implementation of Managed Care at the State and Federal Level, will focus on how and why managed care works. Joining Hilferty on the panel is Anthony Rodgers, Director, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System; Phillip Nowak,Chief, Division of Health Care Financing and Policy, Nevada Department of Health and Human Services; and Bob Thompson, President & CEO, Monroe Plan for Medical Care, Inc. Thomas L. Johnson, Executive Director, Medicaid Health Plans of America will moderate the panel.

Atkins will participate on theSpecial Needs Plan (SNP) Executive Panel – Implementing Strategies for Ensuring Profitability and Optimal Financial Performance, on Tuesday, June 20th at 1:30 p.m. In 2005, 270 SNPs were approved for operation. In this panel, executives from leading Special Needs Plans from four States discuss will discuss issues and challenges with operating a SNP.
