AmeriHealth Mercy President and CEO Michael A. Rashid Named Vice Chairman of Medicaid Health Plans of America
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Michael A. Rashid, President and CEO of the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies (AMFC), has been named Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA), a national organization dedicated to advocacy and research for the development of policy solutions that enhance the delivery of quality health care.
Rashid, a longtime MHPA Board member, will also serve on the Executive Committee, which reviews business matters of the association. The members of the Board of Directors are appointed representatives from MHPA member plans and jointly oversee the association's activities. AMFC has been a member of MHPA since 2002.
In these roles, Rashid and other board members govern MHPA by establishing its policies and objectives, including setting health policy for the association. The Board also ensures availability of financial resources for MHPA and approves its annual budget.
